About The Position

This role is for a Patient Care Tech in the Adult Psychiatry Unit at Mercy Hospital in Oshkosh, WI. The position is full-time and involves night shifts. The primary responsibilities include assisting patients with daily living activities and personal care, observing and reporting changes in patients' well-being to the nursing team, documenting patient care activities, and maintaining a safe and clean environment for patients.

Requirements

BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
Nurse Aide credentialed from the Wisconsin Nurse Aide Registry obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
Certified Nursing Assistant credentialed from the state of Wisconsin, and in Nurse Aide Registry with eligibility to work in a hospital setting obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.

Responsibilities

Elevate patient comfort and dignity by assisting with daily living activities, personal care, and smooth arrivals and departures.
Serve as an essential line of defense by observing and promptly reporting changes in patients' physical, mental, or emotional well-being to the nursing team.
Document patient care activities accurately and efficiently to maintain seamless continuity of care across clinical teams.
Create a safe, healing environment by keeping patient rooms orderly and ensuring essential medical equipment is clean and prepped for use.
