About The Position
The Patient Care Technician works under the supervision of a licensed nurse to perform a variety of duties that support patient care and family needs. The technician follows the patient's care plan while considering the patient's age and developmental stage. The role is based in Temple, Texas, with opportunities in Med/Surg, Neuro, Telemetry, Observation, and Oncology. The position is full-time day shift and requires directly supporting multiple patients during each shift.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, or obtain BLS within 30 days of hire or transfer.
- Less than one year of experience.
Responsibilities
- Collect and record patient data, including vital signs.
- Assist patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, toileting, and transferring.
- Respond to call lights and conduct regular patient rounds.
- Provide personal hygiene care and assist with patient clean-up.
- Adhere to Baylor Scott & White policies and procedures.
- Perform glucose monitoring and collect specimens as requested.
- Directly support multiple patients during each shift.
