About The Position

Baylor Scott & White Surgical Hospital Fort Worth is hiring a Patient Care Tech/Unit Secretary for our Post Surgical Unit! This role involves interfacing with visitors, patients, family, and physicians on the phone and in person. The position is PRN Nights (Shifts 7:00pm - 7:00am). Baylor Scott & White Surgical Hospital Fort Worth is a joint venture between Tenet Healthcare, USPI, and the Baylor Scott & White network, serving the Fort Worth community since 2014. The hospital offers a wide spectrum of medical services including an Emergency Department, an inpatient unit, an intensive care unit, and diagnostic imaging facilities. It is equipped with advanced medical technology and offers services across various specialties such as ENT, Bariatric, Pulmonary, Gynecology, Orthopedics, Spine, and Craniotomy.

Requirements

High School Diploma, or equivalent
Certified Nurse Assistant Certification, or equivalent
BLS Required
Minimum 1-year experience in a hospital setting preferred.
Previous experience Electronic Healthcare Record helpful
Good communication and people skills
Excellent clinical skills appropriate for a medical assistant, nursing assistant or patient care tech
Ability to utilize Electronic Healthcare Record for patient documentation.

Responsibilities

Performs clerical duties including distribution of messages.
Performs clinical duties, under the direction of an RN or LVN, including assisting patients to the restroom, removing IV catheters, etc.
Cleans rooms if needed.
Assists RN’s as instructed.
Any other duties as instructed by supervisor.
