About The Position

Baylor Scott & White Surgical Hospital Fort Worth is hiring a Patient Care Tech/Unit Secretary for our Post Surgical Unit! This is a Full Time position with Day shifts (7:00 am - 7:00 pm). The hospital is a joint venture between Tenet Healthcare, USPI, and Baylor Scott & White network, located at 1800 Park Place Avenue in Fort Worth, Texas. It has been serving the community since 2014 and offers a wide spectrum of medical services including an Emergency Department, a 30-bed inpatient unit, a 4-bed intensive care unit, and diagnostic imaging facilities. The facility is equipped with 14 state-of-the-art operating rooms and specializes in various surgical services such as ENT, Bariatric, Pulmonary, Gynecology, Orthopedics, Spine, and Craniotomy. The hospital emphasizes a quality-centric and patient-oriented approach to all procedures. As the Patient Care Technician / Unit Secretary, the individual will interact with visitors, patients, family, and physicians via phone and in person for Baylor Scott & White Surgical Hospital at Fort Worth and Baylor Scott & White Surgical Hospital Outpatient Center.

Requirements

High School Diploma, or equivalent
Certified Nurse Assistant Certification, or equivalent
BLS Required
Minimum 1-year experience in a hospital setting preferred.
Previous experience Electronic Healthcare Record helpful
Good communication and people skills
Excellent clinical skills appropriate for a medical assistant, nursing assistant or patient care tech
Ability to utilize Electronic Healthcare Record for patient documentation.

Responsibilities

Performs clerical duties including distribution of messages.
Performs clinical duties, under the direction of an RN or LVN, including assisting patients to the restroom, removing iv catheters, etc.
Cleans rooms if needed.
Assists RN’s as instructed.
Any other duties as instructed by supervisor.
