The Patient Care Tech (PCT) on the Telemetry Step Down unit at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Plano provides assistance to patients according to the plan of care. This role involves collecting patient data, reporting significant findings to the nurse, and assisting with admissions, transfers, and discharges. The PCT revises patient activities of daily living based on patient/family preferences, performs technical procedures safely and proficiently, and takes action to reduce or eliminate patient risk. Documentation is accurate and appropriate, and care is adapted to reflect the patient population, including cultural and religious needs, in collaboration with the nurse. The PCT also maintains a clean and safe patient environment, anticipates patient/family and visitor needs, and performs rounding as appropriate. Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Plano is a 386-bed, full-service hospital serving communities in North Texas, offering a range of specialties and advanced technology. It is a Level II Trauma Facility, has Level IV NICU and Level IV Maternal Facility designations, is a DNV-certified Comprehensive Stroke Center, and is accredited by The Joint Commission in Hip and Knee Replacement.
