Patient Care Tech II (PCT) - Telemetry
About The Position
The Patient Care Tech II assists nursing service personnel with patient care activities and related services to support patients’ personal needs and comfort. Duties include assisting with personal hygiene, taking vital signs, changing bed linens, serving and collecting food trays, providing between-meal nourishment, and cleaning, sterilizing, storing, and preparing supplies. The role requires knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures in the field. The position is with The Hospitals of Providence – East Campus on the Telemetry unit and is a full-time day-shift role. Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Completion of a nursing assistant program.
- Current Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support certification from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association. If certified through the American Red Cross, obtain American Heart Association certification within 60 days of hire.
- Obtain Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) certification within 90 days of hire or transfer.
- Ability to use computer-driven patient care equipment.
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
Nice To Haves
- Six months of acute care and/or previous clinical experience.
- Prior basic experience performing clerical or customer service duties, with prior HUC training or experience in a clinical setting.
