About The Position

The Patient Care Tech I (PCT) supports patients and families with basic patient care, monitoring, and hygiene, and helps ensure care is complete. The PCT is an essential member of the patient care team and spends much of their time with patients. Compassion, caring, strong human interaction, and excellent communication with patients, families, and the healthcare team are necessary. The role is in the Intensive Care department on the night shift, with working hours of 1830–0700. The position is authorized for 72 hours bi-weekly.

The employer will provide education that includes CPR, skills training, Crucial Conversations, and Hospitality in Healthcare.

Requirements

• At least 12 college-level credit hours, including a passing grade of C or higher in English Composition.
• An overall GPA of at least 2.0.
• Good organizational skills.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to learn and apply new healthcare-related skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively and consistently.
• Ability to collaborate effectively and consistently with the healthcare team.
• Ability to engage people appropriately for their wellness and cognition.
• Ability to problem-solve.
• Ability to proactively anticipate customer needs.
• Willingness to work flexible hours.

Nice To Haves

• Healthcare experience is preferred but not required.
• Service industry experience is preferred but not required.
