Patient Care Tech I
About The Position
The Patient Care Tech I (PCT) assists patients and families with basic patient care, monitoring, and hygiene, and helps ensure care is complete. The PCT is an essential member of the patient care team and spends much of their time with patients. Compassion, caring, strong interpersonal skills, and excellent communication with patients, families, and the healthcare team are necessary. The position is in the Med Surg department, with day-shift hours of 6:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. The position is authorized for 72 hours bi-weekly. The employer will provide education that includes CPR, skills training, Crucial Conversations, and Hospitality in Healthcare.
Requirements
- At least 12 college-level credit hours, including English Composition completed with a grade of C or higher.
- Overall GPA of 2.0 or greater; transcripts will be verified upon application.
- Good organization skills.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to learn and apply new healthcare-related skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively and consistently.
- Ability to collaborate effectively and consistently with the healthcare team.
- Ability to engage people at an appropriate level for their wellness and cognition.
- Ability to problem solve.
- Ability to proactively anticipate customer needs.
- Willingness to work flexible hours.
Nice To Haves
- Healthcare experience is preferred but not required.
- Service industry experience is preferred but not required.
