Patient Care Tech I - Orthopedics
About The Position
The Patient Care Tech I (PCT) assists patients and their families with basic patient care, monitoring, and hygiene, and helps ensure care is complete. The PCT is an essential member of the patient care team and spends significant time with patients. Compassion, caring, excellent interpersonal interaction, and strong communication with patients, families, and the healthcare team are necessary. The position is in Orthopedics and is scheduled for day shift, 0630–1900. The job is authorized for 48.00 hours bi-weekly. The employer will provide education that includes CPR, skills training, Crucial Conversations, and Hospitality in Healthcare.
Requirements
- At least 12 college-level credit hours, including a passing grade of C or higher in English Composition.
- Overall GPA of 2.0 or greater; transcripts will be verified upon application.
- Good organization skills.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to learn and apply new healthcare-related skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively and consistently.
- Ability to collaborate effectively and consistently with the healthcare team.
- Ability to engage people at an appropriate level for their wellness and cognition.
- Ability to problem-solve.
- Ability to be proactive in anticipating customer needs.
- Willingness to work flexible hours.
Nice To Haves
- Healthcare experience is preferred but not required.
- Service industry experience is preferred but not required.
