About The Position

The Patient Care Representative II for SoNE HEALTH Medical Group will provide support in the daily operations of the medical office and ensure that patients receive the highest level of care. This role ensures smooth operations in the medical office by handling patient appointments, phone calls, maintaining records, and creating a welcoming and organized environment. This position requires strong computer skills, attention to detail, familiarity with some medical terminology, and experience with health insurance. This position is part-time, with a schedule of 24 hours per week. This position is located in Enfield, CT.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 2 years medical office experience or equivalent required
  • Strong computer skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Familiarity with some medical terminology
  • Experience with health insurance
  • Must reside in New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Maine, Vermont, Connecticut, or Massachusetts
  • Fully vaccinated for influenza

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s degree preferred
  • Athena experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Schedule appointments i.e.. new patient appointments, sick visits, physicals, & office visits
  • Answer telephone calls & process requests
  • Process and file e-faxed documents into the appropriate patient’s chart
  • Process incoming and outgoing medical records requests
  • Scan paperwork into the appropriate patient’s chart
  • Monitor patient portal messages & respond as appropriate
  • E-fax referrals, school physical forms, & other patient paperwork to designated location
  • Greet & check-in patients for appointments
  • Verify patient demographic information i.e.. insurance, address, phone number, etc.
  • Obtain all necessary signatures, insurance cards, & ID’s
  • Collect co-pays & balances from patients
  • Check patients out, schedule follow ups, & monitor when patients are due for a physical
  • Review upcoming appointments to anticipate needs, supplies, & completeness
  • Notify patients about labs due for their physical and/or medication check appointments, as appropriate
  • Report needed supplies for ordering to Practice Manager as inventory is used
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
