J73 is a 24-bed Cardiovascular Stepdown Unit where skilled nurses provide high-acuity, specialized care to a diverse population of cardiac patients. From acute myocardial infarction and post-cardiac interventions to chronic heart-failure and complex dysrhythmia management, our team plays a critical role in guiding patients through some of their most vulnerable moments. These fast-paced, collaborative environments offer the opportunity to build advanced cardiac skills, work closely with interdisciplinary teams, and make a meaningful impact every day. This unit also supports med-surg overflow, giving staff a well-rounded experience and continuous opportunities for growth. The Patient Care Nursing Assistant (PCNA) provides compassionate, hands-on patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN), supporting a safe and healing environment through skills validated by training and competency assessments. J73 is a busy 24-bed cardiovascular stepdown unit specializing in the care of Cardiology Stepdown and Medical/Surgical patients. This unit offers a collaborative, fast-paced setting dedicated to exceptional patient-centered care.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (If you do not hold this certification, you must obtain it during your new hire period)
  • Nursing students: Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
  • Military experience as a Hospital Corpsman (HM), Combat Medic (68W) or Medical Service Technician (4N0X1) will be considered

Nice To Haves

  • State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA)

Responsibilities

  • Provide or assist with patient care under the supervision of an RN, such as taking vital signs and weight, assisting patients with personal care, point of care testing, dressing changes, applying external monitoring devices and removing urinary Foley Catheters.
  • Report abnormal findings or changes in physical, mental and emotional conditions to an RN.
  • Assist with keeping patients’ rooms clean and orderly.
