About The Position

Requirements

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Caring, patient-focused attitude
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Experience working with electronic medical records (EMR)
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Working knowledge of office technology and computer systems
  • Customer service experience required
  • High School Diploma or GED required

Nice To Haves

  • Prior medical front desk or medical receptionist experience preferred
  • Orthopedic experience is a plus
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
  • Associate degree or higher preferred
  • Minimum of 1 year of medical front desk experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Welcome patients and visitors in person and over the phone
  • Check patients in and out while maintaining exceptional customer service
  • Verify and update patient demographic, insurance, and financial information
  • Schedule appointments and provide appointment summaries
  • Optimize patient satisfaction, provider efficiency, and treatment room utilization
  • Maintain communication with the pre-certification team regarding patient orders
  • Track and follow up on patient cancellations and no-shows
  • Perform daily audits of assigned tasks
  • Follow up on outpatient and surgical referrals
  • Maintain accurate documentation within the EMR
  • Assist with additional duties as assigned
