About The Position

At Advanced Aesthetics Plastic Surgery Center, our dedicated team of physician assistants, nurses, and support staff play an essential role in delivering exceptional patient care. We are seeking a full time motivated and skilled Patient Care Coordinator to join our team. As a Patient Care Coordinator, you will be the primary point of contact for patients, supporting them throughout their entire journey, from the initial consultation to post-operative care. You will manage patient scheduling, ensuring appointments align with the surgical team’s availability. Additionally, you will assist with treatment planning, helping patients understand procedures, timelines, and preparations. You will offer clear communication and address any patient concerns to ensure a smooth, positive experience.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a patient care coordination or medical office role, ideally in a plastic surgery, dermatology, or aesthetic medicine setting.
  • Strong understanding of plastic surgery procedures, medical terminology, and patient care processes.
  • Experience with insurance verification, billing, and handling financial transactions is highly preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Strong computer skills and proficiency with practice management software and electronic medical records (EMR).
  • High attention to detail, with excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive situations with empathy, professionalism, and discretion.
  • Positive attitude with a genuine interest in providing exceptional service to patients and improving their experience at every step.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, medical assisting, or a related field is preferred.
  • Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, or similar) or a certification in patient coordination or healthcare administration is a plus.
  • Certification in billing or coding (CPC, CCS, or similar) is advantageous but not required.
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) or CPR certification is preferred but not mandatory.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the main point of contact for patients, scheduling consultations, surgeries, and follow-ups while providing information on procedures, costs, and recovery.
  • Coordinate patient care with surgeons and staff, assist with forms, and ensure patients are informed of pre-surgical instructions.
  • Explain financial policies, verify insurance, provide billing estimates, and manage payments and financing options.
  • Provide post-op instructions, schedule follow-ups, and address recovery concerns to ensure patient comfort.
  • Educate patients about procedures, recovery, and outcomes, and act as a liaison between patients and the surgical team.
  • Maintain accurate patient records in the EMR system, ensuring secure and up-to-date information.
  • Work with the medical, surgical, and administrative teams to enhance patient experience and service delivery.
