About The Position

The Patient Care Coordinator (PCC) assists patients attain, maintain, and restore health when possible. He/She manages a designated clinical area with key responsibilities. The Patient Care Coordinator organizes and facilitates the care of the patients by making and altering assignments based on patient needs, problem solving with the staff, and leading performance improvement projects. Expectation is for all performed duties to be in accordance with Singing River Health System procedures and policies, accreditation organization, and governing guidance and publications for health care employees.

Requirements

  • Graduate from NLN School of Nursing required.
  • Currently licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Mississippi.
  • All RNs are required to complete and maintain BCLS certification upon hire and/or transfer.
  • Must have de-escalation training completed by the end of position orientation (90 days); must have appropriate level of de-escalation training.
  • Must be able to demonstrate appropriate clinical judgment and apply appropriate professional skills to a patient population of all ages.
  • Must be keyboard proficient.
  • Must have the ability to maintain collaborative and respectable working relationships throughout SRHS and other organizations.
  • Must possess emotional stability conducive to dealing with high stress levels.
  • Must demonstrate ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to multi-task in complex situations is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing, preferred.
  • Two (2) years’ experience as a registered nurse preferred.
  • ACLS, PALS, TNCC certifications (for Emergency Department).
  • Neonatal Resuscitation (NRP) certification (for Labor & Delivery, Nursery).
  • PALS certification (for Medical Nursing - OB/GYN, Pediatrics, Cath Lab, PACU/Recovery, Endoscopy).
  • TNCC certification for the Emergency Department (18 months to acquire).
  • TB certification as applicable to their position and scope of practice.
  • Proficient knowledge and ability to use a computer and other office technology (i.e., telephone, fax, etc.), MS Outlook and Word.
