About The Position

Community Howard Regional Health is enhancing its critical care services with a more comprehensive and standardized leadership approach for its ICU/PCU units. This initiative aims to foster a cohesive and high-performing environment, ensuring optimal patient outcomes and staff support. This leadership role will manage daily operations, drive best practices, and empower dedicated teams, serving as a vital partner in their success and the continued excellence of patient care. This is a Weekend Option Days position, working every Saturday and Sunday, with a 40% premium plus shift differential. The Patient Care Coordinator will provide daily, shift-to-shift leadership for the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and Progressive Care Unit (PCU) at Community Howard Regional Health. This role requires excellence in clinical patient care, customer service, critical thinking, schedule management, relationship competencies, and organizational skills. The coordinator will have the authority and autonomy to ensure appropriate clinical and customer satisfaction outcomes while effectively leading the team.

Requirements

  • Demonstration of performance consistent with professional standards of practice, care, the Nurse Practice Act and the mission and goals of Community Health Network.
  • Demonstration of skills in collaboration, delegation, negotiation and management of resources.
  • Graduate of National League for Nursing (NLN), Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), or National League for Nursing Commission for Nursing Education Accreditation (NLN CNEA) accredited school of nursing, or three years of related professional nursing experience.
  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) with a valid license to practice in the state of Indiana as listed in the Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC).

Nice To Haves

  • A minimum of 3 years of ICU and/or PCU experience preferred.
  • If only have PCU experience, will be trained as an ICU RN initially.
  • Charge experience strongly preferred.
  • EPIC experience is a plus.
