About The Position
At Good Hands Veterinary Hospital in Athens, GA, our Patient Care Attendants are an important part of keeping our patients comfortable and our hospital running smoothly. We’re looking for a reliable, compassionate, and hardworking Patient Care Attendant with previous animal-handling experience. From feeding and monitoring patients to maintaining clean, comfortable spaces and assisting the veterinary team, you’ll help make sure every animal entrusted to us receives attentive, compassionate care. Requirements
- Previous animal-handling experience is required
- Comfort working with dogs and cats of different sizes and temperaments
- Availability to work weekdays, weekends, and holidays as scheduled
- A reliable and punctual approach to your responsibilities
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods, clean, lift, and safely handle animals
- Compassion, patience, and attentiveness when caring for animals
- Strong attention to detail
- A willingness to learn and continue developing your animal-care skills
Responsibilities
- Safely and compassionately handle dogs, cats, and other animals
- Feed, water, and provide daily care for hospitalized and boarding patients
- Monitor patients for changes in behavior, appetite, comfort, or overall condition
- Promptly communicate patient concerns to the veterinary team
- Assist veterinary staff with animal restraint and patient-care tasks as needed
- Clean and disinfect kennels, cages, treatment areas, and other hospital spaces
- Maintain a clean, organized, sanitary, and welcoming hospital environment
- Follow established hospital safety, sanitation, and animal-care protocols
- Provide attentive and compassionate care to every patient
