About The Position
VCA Palm Beach Veterinary Specialists is seeking a full time Patient Care Attendant to join our team! We are seeking an individual who is positive, energetic, eager to learn, and works well on a team to join our 24-hour Emergency & Critical Care service. We are seeking experienced veterinary technicians who demonstrate dedication, meticulous attention to detail, and a strong focus on patient care. Ideal candidates will possess solid technical skills along with genuine compassion for animals. Responsibilities
- Restraining animals for doctor and technician
- Administering medications under the supervision of the technician
- Assisting with obtaining lab samples
- Running labs on our in-house machines (including learning how to troubleshoot machines)
- Monitoring hospitalized patients during treatments and during surgery recovery
- Surgical pack preparation
- Cleaning kennels and replacing bedding for hospitalized patients
- Offering food and water to hospitalized patients under the supervision of the technician
- Walking hospitalized patients under the supervision of the technician
- Assisting with sedated or anesthetized procedures as needed (set up and break down, cleaning, moving patients in and out of O/R, etc.)
- General cleaning duties inside and outside the hospital, including laundry, sweeping/mopping, restocking medical supplies, maintaining medical equipment
- Other duties as assigned
