About The Position

Working under the direction of licensed personnel, assists patients with activities of daily living tasks such as bathing, dressing, and eating. This role is crucial in supporting patient care by helping with basic hygiene, vital signs, and ensuring patient comfort and safety. The Patient Care Associate Trainee will interact effectively with patients and their families, and report any health concerns to the nursing staff.

Requirements

High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred
Basic Life Support [BLS] - Generic - HR Only preferred
Patient Care Experience 0-1 year preferred
Understands his/her role in relation to providing patient care activities.
Understands hospital, division and unit policies and procedures and utilizes these in providing care.
Communicates effectively with the staff and all members of interdisciplinary health care team.
Communicates effectively with patients/significant others in providing patient care.

Responsibilities

Performs vital signs, weights/heights, intakes and outputs with accuracy and within established time frame and/or as requested.
Completes all documentation in the medical record as required.
Interacts with patients and their families effectively.
Helps patients with a number of basic hygiene tasks.
Assists with bathing and dressing patients, helping them use the toilet if needed and feeding them.
Assists with helping patients turn and reposition themselves in bed as needed and help them move between the bed and a wheelchair if they use one.
Listens to any health concerns patients may have and report those concerns to the nurses.
