About The Position

The Patient Care Assistant works in the Medical Specialty Unit at Prime Healthcare Saint Joseph Medical Center in Joliet, Illinois. Under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse in charge of the team and/or unit, the assistant helps patients with activities of daily living, provides basic nursing care, and helps maintain a safe environment. This is a part-time day-shift position scheduled from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., with weekend and holiday rotation. The estimated compensation range, including wages, benefits, and other forms of compensation, is $18.00 to $26.68. Requirements

State-approved Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification is required.
High school diploma or equivalent is required.
Current BLS (AHA) certification is required within 30 days of hire and must be maintained.
Knowledge of medical terminology.

Nice To Haves

Current phlebotomy certification upon hire is preferred.
Current EKG certification upon hire is preferred.
At least six months of previous experience in an acute care hospital or physician’s office is preferred.
