About The Position
The Patient Care Assistant works in the Medical Specialty Unit at Prime Healthcare Saint Joseph Medical Center in Joliet, Illinois. The role assists patients with activities of daily living, provides basic nursing care, and helps maintain a safe environment under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse in charge of the team and/or unit. This is a full-time day position scheduled from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., with a weekend and holiday rotation.
Requirements
- State-approved Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification is required.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association within 30 days of hire and maintained as current.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
Nice To Haves
- Current phlebotomy certification upon hire.
- Current EKG certification upon hire.
- At least six months of previous experience in an acute care hospital or physician’s office.
