Patient Care Assistant - Float Pool
About The Position
Cabell Huntington Hospital is seeking a casual, as-needed Patient Care Assistant to work in the Float Pool Department. The Patient Care Assistant supports nursing by conducting patient-care activities and provides direct and indirect non-professional nursing care under nursing or medical supervision. Duties may include cleaning, taking vital signs, obtaining lab specimens, charting, escorting patients, assisting with activities of daily living, managing clerical duties, and ordering and receiving supplies. Candidates interviewed for this role must present proof of required degrees, certificates, and/or certifications at the time of the interview. Candidates who cannot or will not provide this documentation will not be considered. Candidates must provide documentation of a score of 80% or higher on the Medical Terminology exam and proof of satisfactory completion of a Medical Assistant degree or Certified Nurses Aide certification.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Medical Assistant degree, West Virginia C.N.A. license, or PCT Certification.
- Documentation of an 80% or higher score on the Medical Terminology exam.
- Proof of satisfactory completion of a Medical Assistant degree or Certified Nurses Aide certification.
- CPR within 90 days of employment.
- Glucoscan within 90 days of employment.
Nice To Haves
- 1–2 years of experience preferred.
