PATIENT CARE ASSISTANT MED/SURG STEPDOWN
About The Position
The Patient Care Assistant works on 3E, a 32-bed medical/surgical stepdown unit caring for older adult patients with a range of needs, from ambulatory care to complete care. Patient acuity is generally moderate. The role provides or assists with patient care, transports patients, maintains a safe and clean environment, monitors equipment function, and documents on appropriate forms. The assistant must demonstrate the knowledge and skills needed to provide care appropriate to patients’ chronological age, developmental age, and/or psychosocial maturity. The unit welcomes new graduates and offers an opportunity to solidify nursing skills. No call or rotating shifts are required.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- BLS required; may be obtained within 90 days of hire.
Nice To Haves
- Six months of prior healthcare experience preferred.
- STNA preferred but not required.
