About The Position
The Patient Care Assistant supports comprehensive health care services for patients and families, assisting RNs and physicians within the scope of nursing practices. The role collaborates with nursing staff and involves varied work and problem-solving opportunities. It is an opportunity for individuals with strong interpersonal skills to explore a career in nursing. This position is listed at 0.75 FTE on the night shift, with 12-hour shifts and alternating weekends.
Requirements
- Certification as a Nursing Assistant in Washington State.
- Current enrollment in an accredited RN program may replace the certification requirement; enrolled students must be registered as a Nurse’s Assistant.
- Successfully complete a Basic Life Support (BLS) course for healthcare providers and hold a current card.
Nice To Haves
- One or more years of institutional patient care experience is strongly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Perform patient care as directed by an RN or physician.
- Assist with dressing changes, data gathering, documentation, and vital signs.
- Apply a service-oriented attitude, professional integrity, and sound decision-making.
- Prioritize duties effectively and bring organization and flexibility to the work.
