Patient Care Assistant II-ICU
About The Position
Hospital Sisters Health System is seeking a Patient Care Assistant to support the nursing staff in the Intensive Care Unit and provide bedside care and support to hospital patients. The position is based at St. Elizabeth's Hospital in O'Fallon, Illinois, and is part of the nursing support function. The schedule is 24 hours per week on day shifts, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Pay ranges from $18.00 to $25.20 per hour; actual pay depends on relevant experience, skills, training, certifications, and education. The role supports HSHS's patient-focused care and its values of respect, care, competence, and joy. Candidates budgeted to work at least 32 hours per pay period are eligible for HSHS benefits; this position is scheduled for 24 hours per week.
Requirements
- At least 1 year of nursing assistant or Patient Care Assistant experience; alternatively, at least 6 months of such experience and the specified certification.
- For candidates with 6 months of experience, Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) or Patient Care Technician (PCT) certification in the state of practice is required. Certification is not required for candidates with more than 1 year of experience.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required within 30 days of hire.
