About The Position
The Patient Care Assistant works in the Medical Surgical department at Prime Healthcare Mercy Medical Center in Aurora, Illinois. Under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse in charge of the team and/or unit, the assistant supports patients with activities of daily living, provides basic nursing care, and helps maintain a safe environment. The position is full-time on days, scheduled for three 12-hour shifts from 6:45 a.m. to 7:15 p.m.
Requirements
- State-approved Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification is required.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Current BLS (AHA) certification within 30 days of hire and maintained as current.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
Nice To Haves
- Current phlebotomy certification upon hire.
- Current EKG certification upon hire.
- At least six months of previous experience in an acute care hospital or physician’s office.
Responsibilities
- Assist patients with activities of daily living.
