About The Position
Avita Health System is seeking a dedicated Patient Care Assistant (PCA) to join the Emergency Department at their Galion location. This role involves meeting patient, family, and staff communication needs, preparing and compiling records, initiating physician and nursing staff directions, and providing basic nursing care to Emergency Department patients. The PCA must maintain compliance with regulatory agency requirements, nursing and facility policies, procedures, and standards.
Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Current BLS certification or within 30 days of hire date.
Nice To Haves
- STNA Certification or Paramedic or EMS Certification.
Responsibilities
- Meets the communication needs of the patient, family and staff.
- Prepares and compiles records in the facility.
- Initiates directions from physician and nursing staff.
- Provides basic nursing care to Emergency Department patients.
- Maintains regulatory agency requirements, nursing and facility policies and procedures and standards.
