About The Position
The Patient Care Assistant assists patients with activities of daily living, provides basic nursing care to all patients, and helps maintain a safe environment under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse in charge of the team and/or unit. The role is at Knapp Medical Center, an award-winning, not-for-profit hospital in Weslaco, Texas, and is listed as per diem with a variable shift.
Requirements
- Current BLS (AHA) certification within 30 days of hire and maintained as current.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), State-approved certification required.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Nice To Haves
- Current phlebotomy certification upon hire, preferred.
- Current EKG certification upon hire, preferred.
- Minimum six months of previous experience in an acute care hospital or physician’s office preferred.
