Patient Care Assistant - Behavioral Health
About The Position
The Patient Care Assistant (PCA) assists patients with delegated direct and indirect care tasks under the direct supervision of a registered nurse. The role carries out designated activities within the scope of functions limited by law to unlicensed nursing personnel. Duties include assisting patients with activities of daily living, providing basic nursing care, and helping maintain a safe and clean environment. The skills and responsibilities of a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) align closely with those of a PCA and Patient Care Technician (PCT), making this an opportunity for candidates with CNA experience.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Demonstrate the ability to multitask under stressful situations.
- Demonstrate the ability to communicate, collaborate, and manage relationships with interdisciplinary team members while maintaining patient- and family-centered care and safety in a timely, efficient, and equitable manner.
- Successfully complete BLS certification before the first day in patient care; BLS certification is included in the orientation program.
Nice To Haves
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Keyboard experience preferred.
- CNA experience is identified as relevant to the role.
