About The Position
The Patient Care Assistant assists patients with activities of daily living, provides basic nursing care to all patients, and helps maintain a safe environment under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse in charge of the team and/or unit. The position is at St. Mary's General Hospital’s adult psychiatric unit in Passaic, New Jersey. Employment status is per diem, with a variable shift.
Requirements
- State-approved Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification is required.
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Current BLS (AHA) certification within 30 days of hire and maintained current.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
Nice To Haves
- Current phlebotomy certification upon hire is preferred.
- Current EKG certification upon hire is preferred.
- At least six months of previous experience in an acute care hospital or physician’s office is preferred.
