About The Position

Mercy Rehabilitation Hospital - St. Louis is seeking a Patient Care Assistant (PCA) to join their full-time night shift team. This role is crucial in providing direct patient care within a state-of-the-art facility specializing in inpatient rehabilitation services. The hospital offers comprehensive programs for patients recovering from strokes, brain or spinal-cord injuries, amputations, burns, orthopedic injuries, and other conditions, emphasizing an improvement in functional ability and quality of life through a team approach. The treatment team includes experienced Rehabilitation Nurses and dedicated Nursing Assistants.

Requirements

• HS Diploma or GED required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) - to be obtained within 30 days

Nice To Haves

• Graduate of a Registered Nursing Program preferred
• Nursing Assistant Certificate Preferred

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care
• Performs specific documentation in the patient's record
• Maintains equipment and supplies and participates in quality assurance
• Communicates appropriate information intradepartmental and interdepartmental
• Assists and participates in staff education and pursues continuing education for personal development.
• Applies knowledge of age-related factors appropriately to patients, utilizing appropriate policies and procedures.
