About The Position

Join our Float Team as a Patient Care Assistant and gain valuable clinical experience working alongside nurses and other healthcare professionals in a hospital setting. This role is an excellent opportunity for students pursuing degrees in nursing, pre-med, healthcare administration, exercise science, public health, or other healthcare-related fields. No CNA certification is required. PLEASE NOTE: You will need to be able to maintain this schedule throughout the year. This is not a summer only position.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED Equivalent required or proof of higher education
• BLS for the Healthcare Provider by 60 days after hire required
• Currently enrolled in college (healthcare-related majors preferred)
• Available to complete 144 hours in the first 6 weeks after orientation and training
• Maintain a minimum of 24 hours worked every 6 weeks after completing initial 144 hours
• Work one 12-hour holiday shift annually
• Current enrollment in a college or university program

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, feeding, grooming, oral care, and mobility
• Measure and document vital signs, intake/output, height, weight, and other patient information
• Assist with patient admissions, transfers, and discharges
• Collect specimens and perform basic clinical procedures as delegated
• Observe patients and promptly report changes in condition to the nursing team
• Accurately document patient care activities in the electronic medical record
• Support a safe, compassionate, and positive patient experience
