About The Position

Watertown Regional Medical Center is now hiring for a part-time Patient Care Partner to join our Float Pool! This position would be working nights 1900 to 0700 for a total of 24 hours per week. You make your own schedule! The Multi-Care Technician I (MCT I) is a vital member of the patient care team, working under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN). The MCT I provides basic patient care and supports unit operations by performing a combination of clinical and clerical tasks. Duties may include basic care activities, unit secretary responsibilities, and performing 12-lead EKGs.

Requirements

  • Ability to lift/move patients and equipment
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and basic computer use
  • Strong interpersonal and decision-making skills
  • Experience with infection control and hospital safety standards
  • Postsecondary (Cert/Diploma/Program Grad) completion of Nursing Asst, Patient Care Tech, Medical Assistant or Emergency Medical Tech program (Required)
  • Some College Coursework Completed in an accredited school of nursing to include successful completion of at least 1 semester. (Required)
  • CNA - Certified Nursing Assistant or CMA or EMT Upon Hire (Required) or Other: Current enrollment in an accredited school of nursing Upon Hire (Required)
  • BCLS - Basic Life Support Upon Hire or within facility-specified time frame (Required)

Nice To Haves

  • 1+ years patient care experience in a hospital setting (Preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Provide basic patient care, including vital signs, blood glucose monitoring, intake/output documentation
  • Assist patients with bathing, grooming, eating, and other daily activities
  • Report abnormal findings to nursing staff
  • Maintain clean and orderly patient rooms
  • Perform clerical duties to support the nursing station
  • Conduct 12-lead EKGs
