About The Position
The Patient Care Assistant assists patients with activities of daily living, provides basic nursing care to all patients, and helps maintain a safe environment. The work is performed under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse in charge of the team and/or unit. This is a full-time, day-shift position at Holy Family Medical Center- LTACH in Des Plaines, Illinois, scheduled from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. with rotating weekends.
Requirements
- Current BLS (AHA) certification within 30 days of hire and maintained as current.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), state-approved certification required.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Nice To Haves
- Current phlebotomy certification upon hire, preferred.
- Current EKG certification upon hire, preferred.
- At least six months of previous experience in an acute care hospital or physician’s office, preferred.
