About The Position

Valley Hope of Boonville is hiring a full-time Patient Care Aide for a residential and outpatient addiction treatment organization. The position is scheduled for nights, 6:30 p.m. to 7:00 a.m., and supports nursing staff in providing patient care in accordance with treatment plans. The role involves direct contact with patients in a residential treatment facility and requires walking throughout the facility. Patient Care Aides may work evenings, nights, or weekends and overtime as needed to provide patient care.

Requirements

• Valid and unrestricted driver’s license.
• Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification, or ability to obtain it within 30 days of hire.

Nice To Haves

• Associate’s degree with an emphasis in nursing.
• One year of work experience in a behavioral or healthcare environment, including direct patient care.
• Work experience in a substance abuse treatment facility.
• Patient Care Technician Certification (PCTC).
• Phlebotomy certification from an accredited agency.

Responsibilities

• Assist nursing staff in providing care for patients according to identified treatment plans.
• Measure patients’ vital signs and monitor their health.
• Assist patients with everyday needs.
• Communicate with nursing supervisors, nursing staff, and clinical staff about patients’ treatment and status.
• Accurately and promptly record treatment activities and patient observations in patient records, and complete required paperwork.
• Transport patients as needed.
• Maintain a safe and sanitary environment using infection-control techniques and universal precautions.
• Maintain and demonstrate current knowledge of applicable medical procedures and nursing care based on company policy and state and federal guidelines.
• Collect blood by venipuncture and capillary techniques as directed.
