About The Position

Visiting Angels of Lufkin is hiring a Patient Care Aide - PCA to support senior adults and other home-care clients throughout the Deep East Texas area, including Livingston, Lufkin, Moscow, Corrigan, Diboll, Groveton, and Woodville. The role helps clients remain or recover at home with dignity. Visits vary according to client needs, and aides may provide personal care, light housekeeping, meal preparation, mobility assistance, companionship, and other day-to-day support. Aides must be prepared to respond promptly to medical emergencies and report health changes or unusual circumstances. Full-time and part-time shifts are offered, with 8-, 10-, and 12-hour shift options.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Excellent time-management skills.
Reliable transportation to client visits.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Familiarity with basic housekeeping and cooking tasks.
Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.
Training or knowledge in First Aid and emergency response.
A compassionate interest in supporting vulnerable people and providing meaningful companionship.
Willingness to comply with state and office-specific health and safety standards.

Responsibilities

Help clients with personal care and hygiene.
Perform light housekeeping.
Encourage clients to meet exercise and fitness goals.
Remind clients to take prescription medications at the appropriate times.
Help clients shop and put away groceries, or shop on their behalf.
Plan and prepare meals in collaboration with clients, based on their abilities.
Assist clients with mobility and ambulation, including getting around the home, going to medical appointments, and taking walks.
Respond promptly to medical emergencies.
Report health changes and unusual circumstances.
