About The Position

Visiting Angels of Bryan is hiring a Patient Care Aide - PCA to support senior adults and other home-care clients throughout Central Texas, including Navasota, Bryan, College Station, Brenham, Madisonville, Huntsville, Caldwell, and Hearne. Aides help clients remain at home or recover at home with dignity. Visits vary by client and may take place in homes or facilities, depending on location. The role requires responding quickly to medical emergencies and reporting health changes or unusual circumstances. Full-time and part-time hours are available.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Excellent time-management skills.
Reliable transportation to client visits.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Familiarity with basic housekeeping and cooking tasks.
Must pass a background check and drug screen.
Training or knowledge in First Aid and emergency response.
A heart for vulnerable people and an interest in meaningful companionship.
Willingness to comply with state and office-specific health and safety standards.

Responsibilities

Help clients with personal care and hygiene.
Perform light housekeeping.
Encourage clients to meet exercise and fitness goals.
Prompt clients to take prescription medications at the appropriate times.
Help clients shop and put away groceries, or shop on their behalf.
Plan and prepare meals in collaboration with clients, based on client ability.
Assist clients with mobility and ambulation, including moving around the home, visiting the doctor, and taking walks.
Respond quickly to medical emergencies.
Report health changes or unusual circumstances.
