About The Position

Meritus Medical Center is seeking a compassionate, resourceful, and customer-focused Patient Advocate to serve as a trusted liaison between patients, families, healthcare providers, and hospital leadership. In this vital role, you will help patients navigate their healthcare journey, address concerns, facilitate resolutions, and ensure every patient feels heard, respected, and supported. As a Patient Advocate, you will champion patient-centered care by partnering with physicians, staff, and leadership to enhance the overall patient experience while promoting service excellence, quality, safety, and satisfaction across the health system.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Human Services or a related field required, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
Minimum of five years of experience in a healthcare setting with significant direct public or patient interaction.
Strong conflict resolution and problem-solving skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
Ability to build effective relationships across all levels of the organization.
Demonstrated commitment to customer service and patient-centered care.
Ability to manage sensitive situations with professionalism and discretion.

Nice To Haves

Master's degree preferred.
