About The Position

PMG is a not for profit, Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) focused on serving underserved populations and offering affordable primary care and preventative services. PMG has been serving communities since 1971 and is expanding. They offer a wide array of services including family medicine, pediatrics, dental, behavioral health, and prenatal care. PMG emphasizes accessible care with same-day scheduling, weekend appointments, and bilingual staff, and is a Patient Centered Medical Home (PCMH) focusing on continuity of care and patient relationships. Requirements

  • Working knowledge of multiline telephone, copier, computer, scanner, fax machine, and calculator.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite products, including Word and Excel.
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Two (2) years’ experience in a supervisory role.
  • Effectively communicates complex and/or technical information to co-workers, patients and/or vendors.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for customer service, including providing support services to patients, welcoming patients, answering and routing telephone calls, operating a multiline telephone, and knowing all PMG departments and services.
  • Responsible for patient check-in, including verifying patient information and signatures, verifying insurance, collecting outstanding balances and visit charges, maintaining knowledge of accepted insurance, entering data into NextGen EPM, maintaining patient flow, scheduling appointments, signing in visitors, maintaining work areas, maintaining encounter logs, and signing up patients for the sliding fee scale.
  • Responsible for patient check-out, including greeting patients, collecting patient encounter forms, verifying procedure and diagnosis codes, collecting charges and outstanding balances, and performing end-of-day activities such as reconciling cash drawers, submitting financial reports, and maintaining logs.
  • Responsible for administrative duties, including adhering to the Front Desk Policy Manual, checking emails, navigating NextGen and Luma, tasking clinical questions to nursing staff, overseeing daily front desk activities, reviewing and submitting timecards, granting employee leave, documenting patient complaints, completing AR reports, working kept appointments and pending charges reports, completing daily data sheets, running reports for QAQI, participating in QA/QI meetings, completing monthly audits, ensuring coverage for clinics, creating and altering provider templates, orienting and rotating office staff, assessing staff performance, reviewing scorecards, setting departmental goals, conducting staff meetings, hosting communication meetings, overseeing inventory and ordering supplies, reviewing patient satisfaction surveys, submitting bi-weekly reports, administering HR policies, and performing other assigned duties.
