About The Position

Rocky Mountain Eye Center, P.C. is seeking a full-time Patient Accounts Specialist to join our Patient Financial Services team in Missoula, Montana. This role focuses on direct patient account support, insurance follow-up, and resolution of billing-related questions. The ideal candidate enjoys helping patients understand their accounts, communicating with insurance carriers, and ensuring accurate resolution of outstanding balances in a fast-paced healthcare environment. This is an on-site position only. Remote work is not available.

Requirements

  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to explain billing information in a patient-friendly manner
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
  • Comfortable working with insurance systems and financial account data

Nice To Haves

  • Prior healthcare, billing, or customer service experience preferred but not required (training provided)

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for patients regarding billing questions and account balances
  • Explain patient statements, insurance adjustments, and out-of-pocket responsibilities in a clear and professional manner
  • Communicate with insurance carriers to follow up on unpaid or denied claims
  • Assist patients with payment arrangements and account resolution options
  • Submit and track insurance claims as needed to support timely reimbursement
  • Research account issues and coordinate resolution across billing and clinical departments
  • Maintain accurate documentation of patient communications and account activity
