About The Position

This position performs, in accordance with established policies and procedures, various activities and duties relative to Patient Account data entry, preparation of data pertinent to and processing of the same.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma
  • Basic knowledge of bookkeeping or accounting
  • Proficient in Data Entry keying
  • Proficient in billing software preferably HMS
  • Detailed oriented
  • Well organized
  • Knowledge of all code procedures
  • Knowledge of computers and business software, including Excel
  • Knowledge of data entry
  • Knowledge of payment planning and billing techniques
  • Skill in organizing and prioritizing workloads to meet deadlines
  • Skill in telephone etiquette and paging procedures
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Able to communicate effectively with patients and co-workers
  • Ability to use good judgment
  • Ability to demonstrate tact, resourcefulness, patience and dedication
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers.
  • Ability to print and speak in simple sentences.
  • Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s.
  • Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions.
  • Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.

Nice To Haves

  • At least 1-year billing experience in a healthcare setting.
