Patient Accounts Specialist
About The Position
Prairie St. John's has been providing services for children, adolescents, and adults to address behavioral health and substance use challenges since 1997. Prairie offers inpatient hospitalization, day treatment, and intensive outpatient services. Accredited by The Joint Commission, we are the largest, freestanding behavioral health facility in the region. More than 4,000 patients receive care from our compassionate health care team each year at Prairie St. John's. The Patient Accounts Specialist generates bills for patient stays, follows up on submitted claims for reimbursement, works denied claims, and sets up payment plans with patients. The Patient Accounts Specialist will be scheduled 40 hours per week.
Requirements
- 1 year of medical accounts receivable experience
- Good communication and relationship skills
- Strong organizational skills
Responsibilities
- Generates bills for patient stays
- Follows up on submitted claims for reimbursement
- Works denied claims
- Sets up payment plans with patients
