About The Position

LMH Health is seeking a passionate Patient Accounts Representative to join their team. This role is crucial for assisting patients and their families with billing inquiries, insurance claims, and payment concerns, including self-pay balances. The Patient Accounts Representative will support patients through the financial aspects of their healthcare journey and contribute to the organization's financial health. This position requires compassionate service, problem-solving skills, and effective communication to positively impact the patient experience and ensure successful account resolution.

Requirements

High School diploma or equivalent

Two years’ experience of third party billing and follow up, in a healthcare setting

Responsibilities

Act in a professional manner representing the department appropriately at all times.
Maintain knowledge and ensure compliance with third party payer and government billing requirements.
Respond to patient questions with concern at all times, treating them with respect and dignity.
Perform audits of patient accounts to ensure accuracy and timely payment.
Verify insurance benefits for commercial, Medicare and Medicaid Payers via phone and website.
Identify and correct billing errors and resubmit claims.
Ensure timely follow-up and appropriate escalation of outstanding claims with third-party payers.
Review EOB’s and initiate appeals as necessary.
Verify payments and discounts with insurance carriers.
Work appeals and denials.
Perform other duties as assigned or requested.
Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
