About The Position

This position is responsible for supporting the Patient Accounts department by providing phone coverage - answering incoming phone calls to address and respond to patient billing and insurance questions along with providing support to internal staff in answering questions and inquiries. Day-to-day, ongoing work provides interaction with various positions in the practice.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • A general knowledge of insurance carriers
  • Education and/or training with computers, preferred medical record system experience
  • Organized, detailed, and deadline-oriented work habits
  • Effective written and oral communications skills

Responsibilities

  • Answers incoming phone calls in order to: Respond to patient billing and insurance questions in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Assist patients with making payments on their account(s).
  • Respond to internal staff questions and inquiries in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Prepares surgery estimates
  • Assists with other office duties as directed by the Revenue Cycle Manager and/or CFO.
