About The Position

Burnett Medical Center is currently seeking a Patient Account Representative (Level 1) for our Business Office. This is a benefit-eligible position including PTO, health, dental, vision, employer-paid life and employer-paid short-term disability insurance, along with up to a 3% match in our 401k retirement plan.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Knowledge of billing regulations for Medicare, Medicaid, and third-party payors (HMO, PPO, etc.).
• Computer proficiency.
• Maintain a professional and positive attitude.
• Ability to work independently and with attention to detail.

Nice To Haves

• EPIC EHR experience preferred.
• At least one year of verifiable hospital or clinic billing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Processes patient bills and claims to third-party payors.
• Identifies appropriate billing distributions.
• Monitors outstanding accounts.
• Responds to billing-related inquiries.
• Assists in preparing billing reports.
