About The Position

Yakima Neighborhood Health Services (YNHS) is a non-profit organization established in 1975, providing a wide range of health and social services including Behavioral Health, Family Dentistry, Internal Medicine, Women’s Health, Primary Care, Pediatrics, Vision Care, and Pharmacy. Our mission is to enhance community quality of life and equity by offering accessible, integrated health and social services, combating homelessness, and providing unique educational experiences for health professions students. We are seeking a team member with medical billing experience and excellent customer service skills, who is passionate about serving our community.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Knowledge in ICD-10, CPT and HCPCS coding.
  • Skills in customer service and data entry.
  • Ability to successfully pass a background check in relation to the position applied for.

Nice To Haves

  • Medical billing experience.
  • Previous experience in a similar role is highly preferred.
  • Knowledge of billing systems and processes.
  • Understanding of Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) reimbursement methodologies preferred.
  • Experience with NextGen Electronic Medical Record (EMR) is highly preferred.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish is convenient.

Responsibilities

  • Computer entry and file maintenance of patient accounts.
  • Accurate and timely entry of patient charges, payments, and adjustments.
  • Accurate and timely submission of third-party claims.
  • Produce and send monthly statements to appropriate accounts with outstanding balances.
  • Assist with collection activities as needed.
  • Work with other business office personnel in reception activities as needed.
