About The Position

The Patient Account Representative manages account resolutions related to patient balances and ensures payments are received from patients in a timely manner. The role includes patient communication, account follow-up, payment-plan review, cash posting, and support for month-end closing. The position follows a Monday–Friday schedule from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Palmetto Infusion provides ambulatory and home-based infusion services to acute and chronically ill patients. Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Previous experience in collections.
Proficiency with partner programs such as MS Outlook, Word, and Excel.
Ability to cope calmly with an ambiguous, changing environment while under pressure.
Ability to work as a team member and develop productive, cooperative working relationships with all members of Palmetto Infusion.

Responsibilities

Refund patient credits.
Communicate directly with patients to send statements and collect balances.
Prepare final notices for outstanding patient balances.
Submit outstanding patient accounts to a collection agency.
Review and post unapplied cash.
Set up payment plans and review whether their terms are being met.
Participate in end-of-month closing procedures.
Uphold the confidentiality of protected health information and follow HIPAA policies.
