About The Position

Join a mission-driven team dedicated to Opening the Door to Healthcare for All. In this role, you will be responsible for submitting and reviewing medical and dental claims to ensure accurate, timely billing and reimbursement. You will also post and reconcile various payments, monitor aged accounts receivable, and resolve discrepancies. Communication with patients regarding billing questions and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to resolve issues are key aspects of this position. Maintaining compliance with payer rules and supporting credentialing processes are also important duties.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent (required)
Knowledge of medical and dental billing, including CPT, ICD-10, and payer requirements
Experience working with practice management systems, payer portals, and clearinghouses
Strong attention to detail with the ability to accurately post payments and reconcile accounts
Excellent communication and customer service skills when working with patients, providers, and payers
Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities and deadlines
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other standard office applications

Nice To Haves

Minimum of two years of medical insurance billing experience preferred

Responsibilities

Submit and review medical and dental claims to ensure accurate, timely billing and reimbursement
Post and reconcile insurance, contractual, patient, and payer payments within the practice management system
Monitor aged accounts receivable and follow up on unpaid, delayed, or denied claims
Research and resolve payment discrepancies, credit balances, takebacks, and missing payments
Verify and update patient demographics, insurance coverage, and required documentation
Communicate with patients regarding billing questions, payment plans, and overdue balances
Collaborate with clinical staff, providers, clearinghouses, and payers to resolve billing issues
Maintain compliance with payer rules, coding guidelines, and timely filing requirements
Support credentialing, re-credentialing, and provider enrollment processes as needed
Document daily activity accurately and contribute to audit readiness and quality improvement efforts
