About The Position

At CHI Health Midlands, we proudly serve Sarpy County and surrounding areas in Nebraska with patient-focused care. As our Patient Access Team Lead, you will provide essential operational leadership and subject-matter expertise for hospital-based revenue cycle functions. You will act as the primary point of escalation for complex registration, insurance verification, and authorization issues, ensuring that our access workflows remain efficient, accurate, and compliant. By collaborating closely with management, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining service quality, fostering a professional environment, and upholding the core values and mission of our organization.

Requirements

  • High School Graduate General Studies, upon hire or High School GED General Studies, upon hire
  • Associates Other, upon hire
  • 3–5 years of experience in patient access, healthcare registration, admitting, or a related hospital‑based access role required., upon hire
  • Prior experience functioning in a senior, advanced, or lead capacity within patient access or registration., upon hire
  • Demonstrated experience supporting hospital-based access areas, including Emergency Department, main registration, admitting, or related workflows., upon hire

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Business or Healthcare Administration is preferred.
  • Prior experience with electronic health record systems such as Epic or Meditech.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate daily work assignments and provide real-time guidance to Patient Access Representatives, Financial Counselors, and eligibility staff to ensure seamless patient flow.
  • Monitor operational workflows to identify and resolve bottlenecks.
  • Assist with complex patient registration and financial clearance tasks.
  • Communicate payment options or financial assistance resources to patients.
  • Participate in shift handoffs and team meetings, ensuring that all access-related processes adhere to regulatory requirements and internal policy standards.
