Assists the Manager, Patient Access to provide customer service to patients and meet the standard goals of patient access department activities. The Patient Access Supervisor will be responsible for interviewing eligible job applicants and making hiring decisions, overseeing the department training process, and implementing new process improvement procedures. This role also addresses and resolves internal and external issues related to Patient Financial Services functions, provides coaching, counseling, and guidance to team members, and conducts performance evaluations. The supervisor monitors and acts on Human Resource items, coordinates with Information Services Security, and performs duties as a system super user. They participate in the creation and review of Patient Access policies and procedures, create reports, and interpret data. Additionally, they set individual quality assurance and productivity goals, ensure appropriate staffing levels, and maintain responsibility for departmental operations on a 24/7 basis. This role processes time off requests, approves work schedules, and performs timekeeper functions. The supervisor ensures team member compliance with education, recertification, and regulatory requirements, and initiates staff meetings. They maintain working knowledge of ICD and CPT codes, manage personnel functions, and ensure compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.
