About The Position

This is a full-time position in Ambulatory Care / PT Rehab Registration working 8-hour shifts 5 days a week, which could be any day of the week. The role involves registering patients by obtaining necessary and accurate financial and demographic information, receiving and responding to inquiries, determining patient financial status, completing financial/insurance related functions, communicating with third party payors to obtain benefits and authorizations, collecting patient payments, completing necessary reports, and communicating with various hospital departments as appropriate.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required
• Must possess excellent customer service, communication and organizational skills and the ability to multi-task

Nice To Haves

• Certified Patient Account Technician CPAT preferred, but not required
• Associate's degree preferred or process of obtaining one

Responsibilities

• Register patients by obtaining necessary and accurate financial and demographic information.
• Receive, investigate and respond to various inquiries and questions in a pleasant and helpful manner.
• Determine the financial status of the patient and or guarantor and complete all financial/insurance related functions and signatures.
• Communicate with third party payors, obtain insurance benefits and obtain insurance authorizations.
• Collect money due from patient at admission, or in ER setting, prior to discharge.
• Complete all necessary reports.
• Communicate with Case Management, Patient Financial Services and Self/Pay/Medicaid eligibility Team and all other departments when appropriate.
